Starting work FAQ

  • My job was just confirmed, what do I do now?

Congratulations on your job confirmation! Here’s what you should do next:

    1. Check communication: Look for a WhatsApp message from us before your first shift. This will often include details about client's details, and confirmation on uniform and document requirements.

    2.  Uniform requirements: Ensure you have the appropriate uniform ready. If any specific items are needed, make sure you acquire them before your start date.

    3.  Learn how to clock-in: Before your shift, watch the tutorial video on how to clock-in and out of your shift

  • How do I check my work schedule?

You can check your schedule by tapping the "schedule" icon on the bottom navigation bar.

There are two views you can switch between by clicking the three-line icon or the calendar icon in the top right corner:

    • Calendar view: A green dot under the date shows if a shift is pending, confirmed, or declined.
    • List view: Displays all completed, shortlisted, pending, and confirmed shifts for the month. To see different months, click the month under "My schedule" and select the one you want.

To hide pending and declined shifts, click the gear icon in the top right corner and toggle them off.

  • Can I cancel a shift that has been confirmed?

All shifts must be cancelled through our app.

    1. Tap the "Schedule" icon on the bottom navigation menu

    2. Click on the date of the confirmed shift you would like to cancel

    3. In the shift details page, click on the three dots in the top right corner

*Note: All confirmed shifts must be cancelled 48 hours prior to shift starting. If a shift is cancelled within 48 hours of shift starting, you will be charged an administrative fee of HKD400. If you cancelled by sick leave reason and your document has been approved, the administrative fee will be waived. Check the Evercare Terms & Conditions for more details.

In general, we would recommend for caregivers to carefully read and consider all details of a job before applying to avoid situations where you will have to cancel after the shift has been confirmed. This is to ensure that we can be respectful of the time of our clients and other caregivers.

  • What is the policy on cancelling shifts?

    - 48 hours before shift start: No administrative fee will be charged.

    - Within 48 hours of shift start: An administrative fee of HKD400 will be charged.

         - Exception: Illness: Upload a medical certificate within 48 hours to waive the administrative fee (the date on the medical certificate must match the shift date)

Repeated cancellations of confirmed shifts and unexcused absences will affect future applications. Evercare reserves the right to cancel all of your remaining shifts.

You must cancel shifts in the app. Phone calls or WhatsApp messages will not be considered as proof of cancellation.

Please check the Evercare Terms & Conditions for more details.

  • What do I need to do when I arrive to work? How do I know where to report to?
